Exciting insights into the workplace of the future

A table camera with microphones that gives remote workers a lively sense of participation, conference room displays that show company news, professional equipment for team members working remotely - the workplace of the future has great surprises in store, no matter where it is located. Vivid impressions were presented at the GoogleMeet and GoogleVoice EMEA Summit last week in Berlin, from which our Cloud Consultants Kevin Heeb (r.) and Liam Ormond (l.) brought back interesting news.

For three days, our two technology fans immersed themselves in the hybrid working world at the event in the German capital. Hybrid work is a highly topical issue and a double-edged sword, as a study by the University of St. Gallen and the car manufacturer Audi, among others, shows. On the one hand, it enables autonomy and flexibility - values that employees across generations value. On the other hand, there is often a lack of psychological security and a sense of community. Increased stress is also often associated with hybrid work. In order to successfully meet this challenge, Google, hardware partners such as Logitech, Asus, Lenovo and Avocor, as well as manufacturers of extensions, demonstrated their solution approaches to the topic of meetings in the workplace of the future.

Latest developments around Google Meet and Google Voice

"The latest innovations on Google Meet and Google Voice are very much geared towards employee needs. It was highly interesting to see and test the solutions live," Kevin reported. While much of what is in development is not yet allowed to be communicated, some interesting products for the workplace of the future are already on the market, he said. These include the Appspace Platform. This allows companies to present updates on screens in conference rooms when they are not being used for meetings. Other exciting impulses for how companies can design offices in the future were provided by news on desk booking and inventory management.

Remote work without compromise

Liam also didn't have to think long about which ideas for the workplace of the future impressed him the most: "The new camera from Logitech - Logitech Sight," he listed, for example. This is a desktop camera that should be available from summer 2023. With 4K cameras and 7 beamforming microphones, Sight captures conversations and non-verbal sounds. In addition, it works in conjunction with Rally Bar as well as Rally Bar Mini and uses artificial intelligence to make remote participants feel like they're sitting right at the conference table. The Logi Dock - a sleek all-in-one docking station with meeting control and speakerphone that helps eliminate cable clutter - and the plug-and-play Brio 505 webcam prove that working from home doesn't have to mean compromise.

So forget about unflattering camera images, problems with microphones and awkward settings! These have no place in the workplace of the future. Even now, they can be a thing of the past if you equip your conference rooms and employees with up-to-date technology so they can enjoy collaborating via the cloud. Get the best of the new! We will be happy to support you in the selection and set-up process.
