The sports brand On has systematically created a strong basis for international cooperation and its further growth with Google Cloud products and StackWorks. As part of a permanent further development of the IT landscape, the company benefits from the latest innovations.
Initial situation
As a fast-growing company, On AG's focus was on product development, sales, marketing and expansion. Although Google Workspace was already in use, as Google demonstrates forward thinking and innovation with its cloud-based solutions with an open approach, the IT foundation for further growth was expandable.
"For example, there was a lack of links to other applications," reported Ian Hampton, Global IT Operations and Services Manager at On. He added, "So we wanted to rethink the processes and automate them where possible." For example, the plan was to integrate the HR system Workday. In addition, single sign-on was to be implemented as an authentication method, and management and security were to be improved.

Solution
StackWorks performed a Google Workspace Security Audit and identified the necessary tasks. Subsequently, the cloud specialists implemented various security features. They revised the organizational structures such as the authorization concept and groups for secure central administration. Numerous third-party applications and the single sign-on procedure were integrated. This means: Users log in to their Google account and can use all other linked applications via one interface.
"As a next step, we set up the automated transfer of attributes from Workday so that information relevant to employee management is available in Google Workspace," revealed Liam Ormond, Cloud Consultant at StackWorks. There, they form the basis for creating dynamic groups and automating processes.
At the same time, StackWorks accompanied the roll-out of the Google Meet hardware on the software side, took care of the integration of the printers and took over the 3rd level support. Within the scope of two meetings per week, the Google Cloud Service Provider and On continue to expand the IT landscape together.
Result
On has stronger and more secure processes and solid foundations for further growth. These enable simple administration and the automation of processes, for example as part of the planned Zero Touch Deployment, which will additionally reduce the workload of IT employees. At the same time, IT is being systematically further developed so that On can permanently take advantage of new innovations.
